Do you already know exactly what design you want? Do you already have a full set of home design plans? If so, we can give you a timber frame and stress-skin panel quote in a couple days.

Timber frame house floor plan design If you're like most people we build homes for, you don't have full plans. Probably you have a good idea of the size and style home you want. You may have house floor plans of similar homes or your own sketches. Maybe you have house pictures clipped from builder magazines or photos taken of existing homes to give us an idea of what you like. This is usually where we start.

Timberframe exterior home design rendering. Our first step is to establish the size and style of the post and beam home you want. The approximate size of the rooms and their relationship to each other, as well as to outdoor spaces, views, and activities.

Very important to your ultimate satisfaction is your life-style. After all, this is not just a house, this is your home. We need to understand where and how you spend your time in your home...

  • How do you plan to use your space for work, play and entertaining?
  • How many people need to be accommodated in the various rooms?
  • Who cooks? Is it a group project?
  • Do you garden?
  • What kind of storage needs do you have?
  • Does the plan accommodate your furniture and a comfortable traffic flow?
  • Does the window location take advantage of views and natural light?

These are a few of the home design elements we consider in transforming your dream from imagination to blue prints.

Our Basic Home Design Package

This process typically takes 2 - 3 sets of drawings from initial drawings to final plan. Your plans will be based upon in-depth consultations with our designers. You'll receive home floor plans, and detailed scale drawings of all four exterior elevations. We do enough design work for you to get accurate prices from subcontractors.

Local Engineering vs. Architectural Review

Sometimes you'll need to get a local engineer or architect to review and "seal" your plans. If you do, we'll provide 1/4" scale drawings and a floppy disk of your design in AutoCAD 14 format for your architect or engineer.
