| Keith and
Linda Bennett were familiar with what could be done with a timber-frame
home if you're fortunate enough to have unlimited resources. They
bought all the magazines and books on timber framing and shared the
dreams of many would-be timber-home owners. When it came to their
own place, however, they had to work with a limited budget.
When they couldn't
find an affordable home to buy in their town in northern Vermont,
they decided to follow their dream and build a timber-frame home.
They bought 12 wooded acres and started methodically visiting and
interviewing many of the timber-frame producers located in their
region. After visiting some of the homes that North Woods Joinery
in Cambridge, Vermont, built and talking to its staff, Keith and
Linda decided to have the company take on their project. Because
Keith had been enthusiastically working on rough plans for their
home, within two weeks of signing with North Woods, their plans
were committed to blueprints.
